The new mechanical plant includes an influent pump station, screening, oxidation ditch, clarifiers, tertiary filters, and UV disinfection. Site activities included clearing, earthwork, concrete construction, yard piping, building construction, and mechanical equipment installation.
The project included installing approximately 2,250 linear feet (LF) of 24-inch gravity sewer to transport the treated effluent from the I-85 Water Pollution Control Plant to Opossum Creek.
Lakeshore Engineering was contracted to construct a new 1.0 MGD mechanical plant to expand the City of Jefferson’s I-85 Water Pollution Control Plant’s capacity from 0.386 MGD to 1.386 MGD.
