Brooks Road Pump Station Improvements

Lawrenceville, Georgia

The project scope included mobilization and demobilization, bypass pumping, demolition of facilities to be removed and coating of the existing wet well,

Three new wet well and three new dry well pumps were installed along with a channel grinder. The existing medium voltage electrical system was replaced with a new 480-volt system and a new 2000 kW emergency generator was installed. The project included secondary containment, control system modifications, site improvements, erosion control, and site stabilization.

To make the required modifications, the entire pump station was shut down and placed on by-pass pumps for 7 months without any disruptions in sewer service. Large diameter piping and valves were installed in the pipe gallery, close to 40' below ground.

Lakeshore Engineering self-performed the concrete, earthwork, equipment installation, and large diameter process piping installation.

Lakeshore Engineering was contracted by the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources to perform comprehensive improvements to the Brooks Road Pump Station.
